Medal (Silver, 60.5 mm, 51.41 g, 12 h), engraved medal, with heavy rims, produced to honour Jan Jacobsen Huyser on his becoming Dean of the Grootschippers Guild on 2 April 1718. Three-masted sailing ship to left with four gunports on the port side and two on the stern; on the main mast, the Prinsenvlag. Rev. Den 2 April / A°. 1718 / Jan Jacobsen / Huyser. Dirks CXXI, 7, 9, 10, 11. Extremely rare, if not unique. A beautifully made, elegantly engraved and toned medal. Extremely fine.
