Crowned arms of Gouda with two lion supporters; above, ribbon inscribed GOUDAE. Rev. Inscription of fifteen lines giving the name of the recipient, Fransicum Janum Gallé (in dative), his accomplishments, his four teachers, J. Noortbergh, H. van Eyck, P. L. Shippers and D. J. Metske, and the Rector, Petro Dausy . Extremely rare, and probably unique. Attractively toned and very well-engraved. Extremely fine.
