ATTICA. Athens. Circa 454-404 B.C. AR tetradrachm. 17.13 gm. 24 mm. Head of Athena to right, with archaic eye, wearing crested Attic helmet with palmette and three olive leaves, round earring with central boss, and pearl necklace / Owl standing right, head facing; olive sprig and crescent moon behind, ΑΘΕ before. HGC 4, 1597. Kroll 8. SNG Copenhagen 31. Good Very Fine; attractively toned; banker's marks on obverse and reverse; good style, well-centered and well struck on a large flan with much of the crest and necklace showing. Very pleasing example of this issue.
