*Italy, After the Antique (late 15th or early 16th century), Hermaphrodite reclining and three Cupids, 29.2 x 34.8mm (Molinier 10; Bange 147; Kress 251), pierced, very fine old cast. Provenance: Dr. Wilhelm Salber collection, Galerie Moenius, 23 March 2018, lot 67. The original gem (Roman, 3rd century AD) is in the Archaeological Museum in Florence. According to Lewis's unpublished NGA catalogue there are only 11 examples known in Museum collections.
