Macedon, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), silver drachm, (4.08 g), Sardes mint, issued c.323-319/8 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin with dotted border, rev. Zeus seated on throne to left, eagle in outstretched hand, torch to left, A with dot inside below throne, to right [A]LEXANDR[OU] , (cf.S.6730, Price 2637, Thompson XV) (illustrated), together with a tetradrachm, (16.78 g), uncertain mint, (cf.S.6713). First coin nearly very fine, second coin worn and good. (2)
