Aeolis, Myrina, (2nd century B.C.), [Sacks believes about 160-150 B.C.], silver tetradrachm, (16.57 g), obv. Head of the Apollo of Grynium to right, wearing laurel wreath with ends falling behind, rev. Apollo of Grynium wearing laurel wreath and himation standing to right, in right hand a patera, in left a laurel branch, two fillets attached, omphalos and amphora before, to left MURINAIWN , and monogram K A, all in laurel wreath, (Cf.Sear 4216 (p.388), Sacks 19.19 (same obverse die illustrated), [ANS Museum Notes No.30, 1985, p.33, Pl.5], Naville sale 16, July 3, 1933 lot 1372 [same dies], cf.SNG Delepierre 2560, cf.SNG Fitz. 4328, Seyrig Tresors 20,10, cf.BMC 12 [p.136]). Extremely fine and a very rare variety.
