Syria, Kingdom of, Alexander I Balas, (150-145 B.C.), silver drachm, (3.85 g), undated issued, Antioch mint on the Orontes mint, obv. diademed head of Alexander I to right, dotted border, rev. naked Apollo Delphos seated to left, on an omphalos, holding an arrow in extended right hand and resting a bow in his left hand, on either side BASILEW[S] ALEXANDR[OU] QEOPATOROS EUERGET[OU] , in exergue ADR and uncertain monogram, (cf.S.7035, cf.SC 1785, HGC 9, 887a). Toned, heavy scratches on reverse, very fine/fine.
