William A James, Consulting Surgeon on 'Hospital Ship No.VIII Grantala', previously a surgeon in the Royal Australian Naval Reserve who had seen service in the South Africa War, as part of the Australian Commonwealth Army Medical Corps. He was also on the staff of Melbourne General and Williamstown Hospitals. Listed in Murray pg 26 and pg 317. With research.
