China People's Bank of China 1 Yuan 1953 Pick 866 Two Consecutive Examples PMG Gem Uncirculated 66 EPQ; Gem Uncirculated 65 EPQ. A vibrant consecutive set, these notes are enhanced by an image of the Great Hall. The red-inked 1 Yuan of 1953, issued in 1955, was replaced by a steel grey, black, and orange note dated 1956, and issued in 1961, rendering this first type the scarcer of the two.
