Hong Kong Chartered Bank of India, Australia & China 50 Dollars 1.11.1934 Pick 56s KNB36S Specimen PMG Very Fine 30. A simply beautiful banknote, rare in any grade, this piece is especially desirable in this curious format. Apparently, this "Expedient Specimen" began its life as a fully issued banknote. After some circulation and stamps on the back, it was hastily converted to a Specimen with two purple overprints and two diamond punches. A splendid Waterlow & Sons design, this type is rare in this rather crude format and only the third example of this design we have offered.
