Hong Kong Hongkong & Shanghai Banking Corp. 500 Dollars ND (1935-69) Pick 179cts Color Trial Specimen PMG Choice Uncirculated 64. A high grade, large format Color Trial Specimen from the early series, this type features the portrait of Sir Thomas Jackson, the third General Manager of the Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation, who was instrumental in the development of the colony's economy during its early years. Two POCs and Specimen overprints are seen on this example which is devoid of signatures and date. The back is enhanced by a large vignette of The HSBC headquarters building located in the central district, along with an allegorical woman's head.
