Japan Bank of Japan 5 Yen ND (1886) Pick 23 PMG Choice Very Fine 35. The iconic design, printed mostly in pastel colors, is striking against the clean margins on this handsome example. At the time of cataloging, only eleven examples are graded in the PMG Population Report, with only four grading finer than this offered note, which is scarce in any grade and desirable. Curiously, this is the only denomination of the series where the God of Wealth, Daikoku, is portrayed on the back.
