Macau Banco Nacional Ultramarino 500 Patacas 16.11.1945 Pick 34cts KNB40CT Color Trial Specimen PMG Gem Uncirculated 66 EPQ. Waterlow & Sons created the 1945 series of Macanese banknotes, which are quite popular today. The 500 Patacas is the highest denomination of that series, and is an absolutely key note, as only 4,000 notes were issued. This Color Trial displays greyish blue hues at front instead of the brownish grey that was used for issued notes. A red overprint is applied to both sides of this Specimen which is void of serial numbers and signatures. At the time of cataloging, this Specimen is the single finest and only Gem grade Color Trial in the PMG Population Report. A "must-have" for Macau collectors, this denomination is either unknown or exceedingly rare in issued form.
