Malaya Board of Commissioners of Currency 10 Dollars 1.1.1940 Pick 1 KNB5a PMG Very Fine 25. A stunning portrait of King George VI graces the front of this attractive issue. The 1940 $10, printed in purple tones, arrived safely to the British colonies in Malaya, and subsequently entered circulation in 1941. However, these notes were hastily withdrawn later that year as the Japanese invaded the Peninsula. After the British regained control of their colonies, a new series of banknotes was issued, nulling the pre-war types. https://currency.ha.com/itm/world-currency/malaya-board-of-commissioners-of-currency-10-dollars-111940-pick-1-knb5a-pmg-very-fine-25/a/4034-26451.s?type=DA-DMC-CoinArchivesCurrency-WorldPaperMoney-4034-12112021 HID08706262019 © 2020 Heritage Auctions | All Rights Reserved
