(t) CHINA. Dollar, Year 9 (1920). NGC MS-64.
L&M-77; K-666; KM-Y-329.6; WS-0181-8. "Hainan" variety. Clearly related to the "fine hair" type, this near-Gem exhibits an iridescent obverse dominated by crimson, cobalt, and violet, while the reverse is mostly blast white with a crescent of deeper color on the left side. The Hainan variant is exemplified by a lack of fine hair on the obverse and some die clashing on the reverse, while the characteristics shared with the "fine hair" type include a non-bisected middle leaf on the upper left interior side of the wreath, a "sunken" nature near the reverse denticles, and a downward-sloping end stroke near the lower left interior of the "yuan" character.

Estimate: $4000 - $6000
