Hsüan-t'ung Dollar Year 3 (1911) MS63 PCGS, Tientsin mint, KM-Y31, L&M-37, Kann-227, Chang-CH32. No period, extra flame variety. Perhaps the most beloved silver Dollar of the entire Imperial series, and an issue of marked conditional rarity when found in Choice Mint State. Among the final issues produced during Emperor Hsüan-t'ung's reign, this highly lustrous specimen showcases an entrancing champagne patina over carefully produced surfaces replete with fine die polish. Situated among the top 3% of the certified population at PCGS, we would not that the census at that service demonstrates a sharp drop-off of surviving specimens above this level, pointing to the clear desirability of the current selection.
