Kwangtung. Kuang-hsü 50 Cents ND (1890-1905) AU58 PCGS, Kwangtung mint, KM-Y202, L&M-134, Kann-27, WS-0943. A most covetable example of this Kwangtung minor and certainly one that pushes the boundaries of its borderline Mint State designation. While only the most trivial instances of friction are witnessed to the design's highpoints, little actual wear is detected for an issue generally weakly embossed, where even choice and gem examples feature comparable strikes. Regardless, the offering at hand exhibits strong traces of original luster produced upon a harvest-gold toned planchet, lending to a superior aesthetic that will surely elevate its desirability.
