MACEDONIAN KINGDOM. Philip II (359-336 BC). AR tetradrachm (27mm, 14.23 gm, 1h). NGC XF★ 5/5 - 4/5. Early posthumous issue of Amphipolis, ca. 315/4-295/4 BC. Laureate head of Zeus right / ΦΙΛΙΠΠ-ΟΥ, nude youth on horseback right, palm in right hand, reins in left; Λ above race torch below horse, caduceus below raised left foreleg. Le Rider pl. 48, 2. SNG ANS 809. Expertly struck on broad, medallic flan. Lovely cabinet toning. Exceptionally appealing, as one would expect of a coin from the Prospero Collection.
