Sinkiang. Hsüan-t'ung Sar (Tael) ND (1910) VF Details (Cleaned) NGC, Tihwa mint, KM-Y7.1 (1905), L&M-813, Kann-1011 (1905), Hsien-Chang-218. Dragon within circle, Turki legend variety. A much scarcer variety for this relatively crude type, having come up for sale a handful of times in the last two decades, and only once before by our firm. Despite evidence of a long-ago cleaning typical for the series, the piece at hand remains appreciable, dressed in a uniform slate patination terminating at cobalt-tinged peripheries.
