Qing Dynasty. Wen Zong (Xian Feng) 50 Cash ND (November 1853-March 1854) XF (Tooled), Board of Works mint (Old Branch), Hartill-22.759. 55mm. 64.53gm. Certainly sharply defined, if fairly extensively tooled throughout. It is somewhat difficult to discern if this tooling was done in an effort to strengthen the features and thus give the piece the appearance of a Mother Coin, or if it was conducted at some point merely to remove deposits from the surfaces.
