The eighth in a series of ten coins known as the Queen's Beasts series, each featuring one of the heraldic statues present at HM the Queen's coronation in 1953. White Horse of Hanover was introduced into the Royal Arms in 1714 when Elector George of Hanover, the grandson of Elizabeth Stuart, daughter of King James I, became George I, King of Great Britain and Ireland.
