CARIA. Kasolaba. Circa 410-390 BC. Hemiobol (Silver, 7 mm, 0.38 g, 4 h). Head of a ram to right. Rev. A𐋃-O ('azo' in Carian) Youthful male head to right. SNG Kayhan 997 = Konuk, Kasolaba, 10. A beautifully toned and unusually attractive example. About extremely fine.
Following a reinterpreted reading of the letter 𐋃 as 'z' by I.-J. Adiego, Konuk ascribes this enigmatic issue to Kasolaba, a hitherto unlocated city known from Athenian tribute lists to have been situated somewhere between Halikarnassos and Mylasa.
