PAMPHYLIA. Aspendos (?). Circa 450 BC. Obol (Silver, 11 mm, 1.06 g, 2 h). Facing gorgoneion with protruding tongue. Rev. Head of Apollo to right, wearing taenia; before, olive twig; all within incuse square. Gemini VII (2011), 469 (same dies, but as 'Gambrium'). Lanz 154 (2012), 204 (same dies and as Aspendos, but with an erroneous reference). Very rare. Slightly granular, otherwise, good very fine.
The attribution of this issue is tentative, others have suggested Selge or Gambrium. The latter seems particularly unlikely.
