LUCANIA. Herakleia. Circa 330/25-281 BC. Didrachm or Nomos (Silver, 21.5 mm, 7.84 g, 1 h). Head of Athena to right, wearing Corinthian helmet adorned with Skylla hurling a stone on the bowl; before forehead, K. Rev. Herakles standing facing, head to left, holding club in his right hand and bow and arrow in his left; lion skin draped over his left arm; to left, Nike flying right to crown the hero; to left, AΛ; to right, Σ. HN Italy 1383. Van Keuren 80. Harshly cleaned and with some scratches, otherwise, very fine.
