SYRIA, Seleukis and Pieria. Laodicea ad Mare. Autonomous issues, 78/7-16/5 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 27 mm, 14.86 g, 12 h), CY 24 = 58/7. Veiled, turreted and draped bust of the city-goddess to right. Rev. ΛΑΟΔΙΚΕ[ΩΝ] / ΤΗΣ ΙΕΡΑΣ ΚΑΙ - ΑΥΤΟΝΟΜΟΥ Zeus seated left, holding Nike in his right hand and long scepter in his left; in inner left field, ΔK (date); below throne, monogram; in exergue, ΣΕ; all within laurel wreath. HGC 9, 1398. Mørkholm, Laodicea, 14a. Somewhat rough, otherwise, very fine.
