SELEUKID KINGS OF SYRIA. Antiochos III 'the Great', 222-187 BC. AE (Bronze, 16 mm, 3.25 g, 1 h), Ekbatana. Diademed head of Antiochos III to right. Rev. [B]AΣIΛEΩ[Σ] - ANTIOXOY Tripod ornamented with filleted horse foreparts; to left, monogram. SC 1253. Extremely rare and unusually attractive, with a lovely dark patina and an interesting eastern portrait. Struck from a somewhat worn obverse die, otherwise, good very fine.
