SELEUKID KINGS OF SYRIA. Alexander I Balas, 152-145 BC. Drachm (Silver, 16 mm, 4.12 g, 12 h), Antiochia on the Orontes, curca 151-149. Diademed head of Alexander I to right. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ / ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ - ΘΕΟΠΑΤΟΡΟΣ / ΕΥΕΡΓΕΤΟΥ Apollo seated left on omphalos, holding arrow in his right hand and resting his left on grounded bow; in exergue, Θ. SC 1785.1c. Beautifully toned and very attractive. A few faint marks, otherwise, extremely fine.
