SASANIAN KINGS. Hormizd IV, 579-590. Drachm (Silver, 32 mm, 4.09 g, 9 h), possibly AM (Amul), RY 9 = AD 587. Draped bust of Hormizd IV to right, wearing elaborate mural crown with frontal crescent and korymbos set on crescent; before head, WHLMZD ('Hormizd' in Pahlawi). Rev. Fire altar flanked by two attendants; in upper left field, six-pointed star; in upper right field, crescent; to left, date; to right, name of the mint in Pahlawi. SSCT -. Bright and lustrous. Struck from somewhat worn dies, otherwise, good extremely fine.
