SASANIAN KINGS. Hormizd IV, 579-590. Drachm (Silver, 30 mm, 4.12 g, 3 h), WYHC (the Treasury mint), RY 11 = AD 589. Draped bust of Hormizd IV to right, wearing elaborate mural crown with frontal crescent and korymbos set on crescent; before head, WHLMZD ('Hormizd' in Pahlawi). Rev. Fire altar flanked by two attendants; in upper left field, six-pointed star; in upper right field, crescent; to left, date; to right, WYHC (name of the mint in Pahlawi). SSCT 1359. Struck from slightly worn dies and with a minor flan crack, otherwise, extremely fine.
