HUNNIC TRIBES, Uncertain. Circa 4th-8th centuries. AE (Bronze, 12 mm, 0.44 g), possibly Gandhara. Male bust to right, wearing mural crown; to right, legend in Brahmi ('Shahi'?); above, uncertain objects. Rev. Large ornamented trident (?). Apparently unpublished. Light deposits, otherwise, very fine.
This interesting coin probably belongs to the 'Gandharan Copper' series struck by local Huna rulers in the Peshawar plain, a melting pot of different cultural traditions.
