M. Nonius Sufenas, 59 BC. Denarius (Silver, 16 mm, 3.04 g, 11 h), Rome. SVFENAS S•C Head of Saturn to right; behind, harpa and conical stone. Rev. PR•L•V•P•F• / SEX•NONI Roma seated left on pile of arms, holding scepter in her right hand and sword in her left; behind, Victory standing left, crowning Roma with wreath and holding palm frond in her left hand. From the Red Ox Collection and the collection of the Czech musician Adolf Picek (circa 1885-1978), and formerly in the possession of an Italian banker, whose life was saved by Mr. Picek in the Battles of the Piave River on the Italian Front in 1917-1918 and who presented his savior with 'four socks of old coins' in reward.
