INDIA, Medieval. Paramaras of Vidarbha. Late 12th century. Gadhaiya (Silver, 13 mm, 4.10 g, 10 h). Highly stylized Sasanian head to right. Rev. Horseman galloping to right, trampling enemy lying below and brandishing sword at another enemy on the right. Deyell 167. Minor deposits, otherwise, very fine.
This issue is traditionally attributed to the Silaharas of the Konkan, but Maheshwari assigns it to the Paramaras and suggests it was issued to celebrate their recovery of Malwa around the year 1190.
