Tetradrachm (Subaeratus, 27.5 mm, 17.09 g, 1 h), a contemporary plated imitation, Myriandros or Issos, struck under Menes or Philotas, circa 324/3-323. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. BAΣΙΛΕΩΣ - AΛEΞANΔPOΥ Zeus seated left on low throne, holding long scepter in his left hand and eagle standing right with closed wings in his right; to left, monogram; below throne, • and monogram of MI. Cf. Price 3234 (for prototype). Very rare. Break in plating on the obverse and with light doubling, otherwise, good very fine.
