KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III 'the Great', 336-323 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 27 mm, 17.12 g, 8 h), Myriandros or Issos, struck under Menes or Philotas, circa 324/3-323 BC. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. BAΣΙΛΕΩΣ - AΛEΞANΔPOΥ Zeus seated left on low throne, holding long scepter in his left hand and eagle standing right with closed wings in his right; to left, monogram of MA; below throne, monogram of MI. Price 3235. Struck slightly off center and with light marks, otherwise, very fine.
