THESSALY, Thessalian League. Late 2nd-mid 1st century BC. Stater (Silver, 23 mm, 5.82 g, 1 h), Lysikles and Poly..., magistrates. ΛΥΣΙΚΛΗΟΥ Head of Zeus to right, wearing double oak wreath. Rev. Athena Itonia striding right, hurling spear with her right hand and extending shield with her left; in inner left field, grape bunch; in inner right field, monogram of ΠΟΛΥ or ΠΟΛΙ. BCD Thessaly II 821. Harshly cleaned and with a large flan crack. Good very fine.
