ARKADIA, Arkadian League. Circa 465-460 BC. Hemidrachm (Silver, 15 mm, 2.89 g, 12 h), Tegea, by the 'Koppa master'. Zeus Lykaios seated left, holding eagle alighting to left in his right hand and long scepter in his left. Rev. AЯKA-ꓷIOИ Head of Kallisto to right, with her hair bound up with a taenia and tied in a bun at the back, wearing plain necklace; all within incuse square. BCD Peloponnesos 1711 (this coin). Williams, Confederate, 93b (this coin). Very rare. A beautifully toned and very well pedigreed piece of wonderful late Archaic style. Slightly rough, otherwise, very fine.
