Crossed cornuacopiae, each surmounted by bare-headed bust of a boy facing one another; between, winged caduceus. Reverse: DRVSVS CAESAR TI AVG F DIVI AVG N PONT TR POT II around large S C. RIC 42; BN 72; BMC 95. Reddish-brown patina. Well-struck on a nice full flan. Choice Very Fine. Estimated Value $2,000 - UP
This issue commemorates the birth of the twin sons of Drusus Caesar and Livia Drusilla. Although Tiberius Gemellus was considered as a potential heir to Tiberius, he was murdered by his cousin Caligula.
