Caracalla. Æ Sestertius (22.32 g.), AD 198-217. Rome, AD 211-213. M AVREL ANTONINVS PIVS AVG BRIT, laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Caracalla right. Reverse: SECVRITATI PERPETVAE around, S C in exergue, Securitas seated right, holding scepter; at her feet to right, garlanded altar. RIC 512a; cf. BMC 248 (bust). Glossy dark reddish-brown patina. We note a striking crack behind the head of Caracalla and some smoothing. Choice Very Fine. Estimated Value $500 - UP
