The musical element of religious service in the Jerusalem Temple, which emerged with the nevel middle bronze type of the first year (132/3 CE) of the Bar Kokhba War and continued on zuzim of the second year (133/4 CE) receives a new type on this zuz of the second year. The two trumpets depicted on the reverse refer to the two silver trumpets fashioned by Moses in the wilderness of Sinai and used by the Levite priests to call the people, to herald war, to announce the presence of the Ark of the Covenant, and to celebrate burnt and peace offerings.
