SASANIAN KINGS. Ardaxšīr (Ardashir) III. AD 628-630. AR Drachm (32mm, 3.83 g, 9h). AYL (Susa?) mint. Dated RY 2 (AD 629/30). Bust right, wearing mural crown with frontal crescent, two wings, and korymbos set on crescent / Fire altar with ribbons; flanked by two attendants; star and crescent flanking flames. SC Tehran 4269-71. Iridescent toning, graffiti and light encrustation in obverse margin. VF. Overstruck on an uncertain undertype.
