GERMANY, Ulm (city). AR Gulden Klippe (27mm, 14.34 g, 12h). Siege of Ulm. War of the Spanish Succession issue. Dated 1704. Coat-of-arms surmounted by cherub / Double-headed eagle with crowned globus cruciger on breast. Korchnak 599a; KM 90. Lightly toned, a few scratches, edge marks. Near VF.

The city of Ulm passed between the French and Bavarians several times during the War of the Spanish Succession. In 1704, when this klippe was produced, the city was besieged by a German force under General Thüngen, to whom the city fell on 10 September.
