Vespasian. AD 69-79. AR Denarius (19mm, 3.35 g, 6h). "Judaea Capta" commemorative. Rome mint. Struck circa 21 December AD 69-early 70. IMP CAESΛR VESPΛSIΛNVS ΛVG, laureate head right / IVDAEA in exergue, trophy; to right, Judaea, veiled and draped, seated right on ground in attitude of mourning, knees drawn up, head resting in left hand, which is propped on knees. RIC II.1 2; Hendin 6509; RSC 226 (this coin illustrated); BMCRE 35-42; BN 23-5. Deeply toned, cleaning scratches under tone. Good VF.
