DIVA • AVGVSTA MARCIANA, draped bust right, hair arranged in multiple curls at forehead and held in place by double stephane, gathered into a twisted plait in back / CONSECRATIO, eagle standing facing, wings displayed, leaning to right, head left. RIC II 748 (Trajan) var. (eagle to left); Woytek 716 (Trajan); Strack 444; Banti 2; BMCRE 1084 (Trajan); BN 790-1(Trajan). Lovely natural green patina with a few minor defects, earthen deposits, a few minor scratches and a light edge scrape. EF. A rare and spectacular piece, certainly among the finest known.
