Crusader States, Cyprus (Lusignan Kingdom). James I AR Gros. 1382-1398. ✠ IAQVЄ ROI C, King seated facing on throne decorated with lions, holding lis-tipped sceptre and globus / ✠ DЄ IЄRVSALЄᙏ Є DЄ, cross of Jerusalem with crosses in each quarter. CCS 112; cf. Metcalf, Crusades 1995, 795-796. 4.39g, 26mm, 11h.
Extremely Fine. Very Rare. This coin is of a particularly rough style in comparison to the standard James I Gros (e.g. CCS 107), and thusly is attributed to CCS 112, which notes a 'barbarous style'.
