Lucania, Metapontion AR Stater. Circa 340-330 BC. Pro-, magistrate. Veiled and wreathed head of Demeter to left, wearing triple pendant earring and necklace, flanked by stalks of barley; Σ below chin, A behind / Ear of barley with long leaf to right and short leaf to left; helmet above long leaf, [ΠΡΟ] above short leaf, [ME]TA upwards in left field. Johnston Class A, 7.10 (same dies); HN Italy 1566; HGC 1, 1061. 7.85g, 23mm, 4h.

Good Very Fine; cleaning marks. Extremely Rare; only three other example on CoinArchives, the last one sold in 2006.
