Although labeled as Canada, this banknote is a Crown Colonial issue for Newfoundland before it joined the Dominion. A small print total on this high denomination indicates how few were issued which correlates to how few remain extant today. We have not offered this type in the past and only a handful are known to exist. The manuscript signatures are faint but are present. A key note for the colony which should see spirited bidding.
