Falkland Islands Government of the Falkland Islands 1 Pound ND (1899-1915) Pick A3p Proof PMG Uncirculated 62. A terrific and very rare offering from the first series of specific notes for the Falkland Islands. This 1 Pound prototype is a Proof, as evidenced by the fountain pen notation in the counterfoil at left, which reads "app[rove]d for £1 ____ 24/7/99", which predates the first issued note from 16 October 1899. Mount remnants are mentioned for accuracy on this highly unusual and very rare note. There are no serial numbers, signatures, nor a date. The design elements and watermarked paper is on full display.
