India Government of India, Bombay 10 Rupees 7.6.1862 Pick A1 Jhunjhunwalla-Razack 2.1.1-4 PMG Very Good 10 Net. An impressive, short-lived, and incredibly desirable offering. The Bank of England printed this Government series, but the paper used was weak and did not withstand the tropical climate of India. Notes wore out quickly, and the weak security features lead to counterfeiting. The next series of uniface notes, first issued in 1866, was printed on thicker paper and without a Royal Portrait. Some rust damage, holes, vintage tape and repairs are mentioned for accuracy. Iconic, extremely rare, and seldom offered. https://currency.ha.com/itm/world-currency/india-government-of-india-bombay-10-rupees-761862-pick-a1-jhunjhunwalla-razack-211-4-pmg-very-good-10-net/a/4035-28199.s?type=DA-DMC-CoinArchivesCurrency-WorldPaperMoney-4035-01062022 HID08706262019 © 2020 Heritage Auctions | All Rights Reserved
