BYZANTINE SEALS. Basileion, Metropolitan of Laodicea, circa 9th-10th century. Seal or Bulla (Lead, 29 mm, 22.34 g, 11 h). Busts of Saint Peter and Saint Paul. Remnants of the Saints' names above them. A cross above(?). Rev. BACIΛ / MITPOΠΟ / Λ ΛΑΟΔΙ / ΚHAC in four lines within plain linear border. An otherwise unknown seal. Old bang on the reverse, otherwise, nearly very fine.
