THRACE. Chersonesos. Circa 515-493 BC. Tetrobol (Silver, 13 mm, 2.59 g). Forepart of a lion to right, his head turned back to left. Rev. Quadripartite incuse square with two raised and two sunken squares. HGC 3.2, 1434. Traité I 1799. Rare early issue preceding the massive issue of hemidrachms with symbols struck during the 4th century. Very fine.
